About Us

Elizabeth was involved with Labradors from an early age. In 1949 her father purchased a fox red bitch
from the famous Liddly Kennels, he regularly shot over his dogs in the Lincolnshire countryside.
As a Junior Handler she exhibited at Open Shows until she emigrated to Australia in 1963.
Within weeks of her arrival she purchased her foundation bitch from Harry Scott of Lindhills Kennels.
Since then her carefully planned breeding program has seen her become a respected breeder and exhibitor
at the highest levels, having bred or owned more than 40 Champions.
Hugh has been President of the Australian National Kennel Council since 1998 and is a Past President and
Life Member of the Royal NSW Canine Council (Dogs NSW). A Life Member and President of the Labrador
Retriever Club of NSW since 1990, he was the inaugural Chairman of the National Labrador Breed
Council. He is a Deputy Chair of the Companion Animals Sector of the Australian Animal Welfare Strategy (AAWS)
an Australian Government initiative. He also represents the ANKC on the Australian Companion Animal Council.
He is an International All Breeds Judge having judged extensively in Europe and Asia.
In 2006 he was was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for his
services to Canine Activities.
Away from the world of dogs Hugh is Secretary and a Deputy Captain with the Theresa Park Rural Fire Brigade.
In April 2010 he was awarded his 20 years Long Service Medal by the NSW Rural Fire Service.
